Nigeria: The Lagos Biennial Announces the List of Artists for Its 2026 Edition
In the run-up to the fifth edition of the Lagos Biennial, the organizers have announced the artists who will be participating.

The Lagos Biennial has unveiled the list of eighteen artists and collectives participating in its fifth edition, which will take place from November 14 to December 6, in Eko Atlantic City, a recently developed artificial peninsula in the city of Lagos that is ultimately intended to add 10 km² to Nigeria’s economic capital.
Titled “The Museum of Things Unseen,” this edition—which aims to reimagine the museum and explore the stories, objects, and narratives that remain hidden, while questioning what is made visible, what is remembered, and what is erased, is under the artistic direction of a trio of curators: Furen Dai, artist and co-founder of the Institute of Contemporary Art in New York; Chinyere Obieze, curator and cultural producer; and Sam Hopkins, artist, researcher, and educator.
The complete list of selected artists and collectives is as follows:
- Ade Adekola
- Ala Praxis
- Caitlyn Min-ji Au
- CAMP
- Ha Bik Chuen
- Jacob Höfle
- Lagos Studio Archives
- Olukemi Lijadu

Created and founded in 2017 by the Àkéte Art Foundation, a Lagos-based artists’ collective, the Lagos Biennial will also present OFFish, a program of OFF events exclusively reserved for arts institutions. Among the institutions selected following an open call for applications to participate in the 2026 edition, are: Art Bridge, the Greenbox Museum of Contemporary Art in Saudi Arabia, Parsons School of Design | The New School in New York, and Yaba College of Technology in Lagos.
